WEEK 8

As of this week, we have completed 25% of our OT readings. Congratulations!

Along with the usual questions for the week, please respond to one of the following questions:

  • What is something new you have learned about God/the bible/yourself, etc.?
  • We have only gone through a few books, but how is tackling the entire OT different studying a single book of the bible?
  • What has been challenging for you? What has been rewarding?
  • Is this challenge easier or harder than you thought? Why?
  • Is there a verse or section of the OT that you’ve read so far that has impacted you strongly?

Hi all. I like the way this study continually reviews the new testament parallels/analogues through the weekly questions. I find it helpful to remember that Martin Luther emphasized that all scripture is ultimately Christ-centered with the purpose of bringing man to salvation through Christ. I also found it helpful to read passages in Hebrews and Romans that clarify how God's covenants and laws were to be re-interpreted after Christ's coming.
On a lighter note, does anyone know of any unique properties of sea cow hides that would make them good roofing material? The Israelites seemed to have had some exotic materials available to them in the desert.
Thanks for sharing.
